What it's like to work with Brittany

My path into counselling has been shaped by a deep desire to come alongside people in their experiences and truly understand their story. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and I am passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and valued. Whether you are facing a difficult season or seeking greater clarity, my goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and care as we navigate challenges, develop new skills, and work toward resilience and well-being.

I bring a unique depth of experience and empathy to my counselling practice, shaped by over twenty years working with children, youth, and families in educational and community settings. I have extensive experience supporting neurodiverse individuals, including those with autism and ADHD, and I understand the impact these challenges can have on daily life, family dynamics, and relationships. I have also supported women navigating abusive relationships and currently facilitate a support group for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and their caregivers. These experiences have deepened my understanding of anxiety, resilience, identity, and the mental health challenges many individuals and families face.

My personal experiences have also shaped my approach to counselling. As a wife and mother of two teenagers, and being married to a first responder, I have firsthand insight into the pressures, trauma, and emotional demands of high-stress professions, as well as the impact these challenges can have on family life. Combined with my professional experience supporting mental health and well-being, these experiences have strengthened my empathy, patience, and ability to provide compassionate, practical, and collaborative support that honours each person’s strengths while helping families navigate complex situations.

I am passionate about supporting individuals’ mental health and well-being. My approach is grounded in a person-centered, attachment-based, and trauma-informed perspective. I work with a diverse range of clients, including children, youth, adults, and families, and draw from modalities such as solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness techniques to create a tailored experience for each individual.
